The Doctor
Dr. Kristina Stitcher, D.C.
Doctor of Chiropractic I have enjoyed watching chiropractic change so many peoples lives for the better. I have witnessed patients recover from irritable bowel syndrome, ear infections, colic, even seizures, all without drugs. So how did I get to this place where I get to see this everyday in my practice?
I witnessed chiropractic saving my mom. She was in a car crash when someone ran a red light, within weeks she had headaches, arm pain, numbness and weakness, and then she went on to develop fibromyalgia and chronic fatigue syndrome. The problem: a disc herniation in her neck, the traditional medical solution given was surgical spinal fusion at the base of her neck. The surgery offered no relief and soon my mom was suffering more. About a year after her surgery, my mom found a chiropractor who helped her slowly regain her life and health. After watching that amazing transfiguration I was intrigued.
So after growing up in Maine and Vermont I moved west to attend Brigham Young University for undergraduate studies, then continued my education at Parker College of Chiropractic in Dallas, Texas. Along the way I achieved a fellowship through the ICPA (International Chiropractic Pediatric Association) in pediatric and pregnancy care. I have further focused on pregnancy, labor and newborn care. Why do I care so much about pregnancy and birthing? Pregnancy can be unnecessarily hard, labor harder(it doesnt have to be!) and birth can be traumatic. So helping mom during pregnancy and birth helps lessen this trauma and ensures a healthier generation. I also evaluate the newborn and adjust them to help their body work at its best so baby is healthy, happy and able to develop properly. In fact, the majority of problems I see in adults started in childhood, so we are focused on stopping this trend from continuing and improving our societys health. Our office is family based, so Men dont feel left out, you are welcome in our office too, your health is just as important!
I have been married for eleven years to Craig. We have three children, William, Mikaylee, and Carter, all born at home with the assistance of midwives. In my spare time I run marathons and triathlons (partly as training to stay ahead of the children at home and in the office!), I enjoy Moab trails, camping and playing with our kids.
I am a perfectionist in my life and especially in the office. I care about every patient that I treat, and enjoy being part of their family. Our office is committed to excellence-in everything we do including how we treat our patients. But we have fun while we do it, no stuffy medical office here, just honest, logical and patient oriented care.
